Volunteering @ ANUCS

There are two ways to do volunteer work through ANUCS. One is hospital visitation at the Calvary hospital, the other is a range of volunteer choices with St. Vincent de Paul Society. Firstly, the hospital visitation is the Meal Mates program. It is just half an hour per visit, to assist patients in the wards with meals, such as refilling a water jug, or less often opening a food container. If you are interested the frequency of visits is optional, but there is a chance to visit once per week. Some forms are attached for hospital visitation. If you are interested you may print these off, fill them out and pass them onto Alexis after a mass and he will give them to the woman in charge at the hospital (Christine English email : chrissy [dot] english [at] calvary-act.com.au). Or else he can pass on the forms to you if you would like.

St. Vincent de Paul has a range of volunteer opportunities including home visitation, soup kitchen vans for homeless, youth camps for disadvantaged children, friendship with the mentally ill. So if you're interested in any of these please come along to a training session. The next training session is on Wednesday October 26th from 5 til 8pm with a free pizza dinner provided. It is in the St John's XXIII College senior common room (Through the glass doors upstairs and to the left). You have to do a training session to be able to volunteer with St. Vincent de Paul. After the training session and when your application is cleared your volunteering can be as often or little as you like.
